Date Night: The most romantic things to do in Somerset

Strawberryfield Park offers 11 one bedroom luxury self catering lodges with private hot tubs located between Cheddar Village and City of Wells.

Romantic dinner at The Bath Arms

The Bath Arms is only a short drive away from the park and comes highly recommend by our guests at Strawberryfield Park, not just because it serves great food and wine but also because the atmosphere is what plays a big part too. For the casual diners, you can sit in the pub lounge next to open fire or if you prefer the more traditional sense of an evening meal, you can sit in the restaurant.

Feed the swans at Bishop’s Palace

Ok, this is something you may see in the movies and it might not be the only thing you’d want to do here. Located in the heart of Wells for over 800 years, Bishop’s Palace isn’t just home to the local swans situated here since the 1800s, the 14 acres of beautifully maintained gardens also await you. Over the years, the gardens changed as successive bishops placed their mark and today, it is renowned as a Grade II listed garden due to its special historic nature.

Sunset walk at Glastonbury Tor

Glastonbury Tor is one the most famous landmarks of the South West and home to one of the most renowned festivals that takes every year. If you ask us, the best time to walk the Tor is on an evening, ideal for exploring the wonders of the high street in the village during the day and experiencing some of Somerset’s most admirable sunsets on the evening, with stunning views across the levels. Th walk up the Tor isn’t as steep as it looks, but I would recommend taking it slow and appreciating the experience.

Picnic in the orchard at Strawberryfield Park

As well as being home to 23 luxury lodges, the park is also home to the perfect picnic spot. Pack your favourite food and in only a few moments’ walk, you’re in the peaceful surroundings of what is our very own orchard with views of the rolling Mendip Hills and Somerset Levels.

Movie night

All lodges have a flat screen TV, some even come fitted with Bang & Olufsen smart TV with Apple TV, built in DVD player and an audio system so it’s the perfect excuse to curl up on the sofa for snuggles, snacks and quality time with one another. If you do decide that you’re more of a meal and movie couple, there is the local, family run cinema in Wells and showings are dependant on days and times.

The Spinney Exterior

Hot tub, hot tub, hot tub

With a weekend getaway in a lodge, you can almost always expect a hot tub and considering every lodge at Strawberryfield Park has one, you will not be disappointed. What better way to spend you evening than to soak up the bubbles under the stars? Exactly, there isn’t a better way. Treat yourself and make the most of your break with one another.

Date night is all for spending time with your loved one, appreciating one another and showing them how much you care. We all need to spend quality time and within the 21st century, it can be hard to justify the time, which is why a weekend break and last minute getaways are sometimes the perfect excuse.
